Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked the concerned departments to make temporary arrangement so that studies in schools and colleges can resume in the violence hit areas of Bodoland Territorial Area Districts, BTAD, and neighbouring Dhubri district. Reviewed the relief and rehabilitation measures with senior officials in Guwahati Mr. Gogoi also emphasised on providing vegetables along with foodstuff in the camps. Two lakh 42 thousand people have taken shelter at 234 relief camps.
Talking to AIR, State’s Principal Secretary of Revenue department said that at Gossiagaon in Kokrajhar district, two temporary relief camps have already been set up and inmates were shifted to these camps.
Meanwhile, the situation has improved in the violence hit areas. Government and private offices, banks and other institutions have resumed their normal works. On the other hand, 10 thousand displaced people have so far submitted documents related to the verification of land ownerships.
