Assam CM assures all possible help to boost relationship with Bhutan

The Assam Chief Minister, Mr Tarun Gogoi has assured all possible help and cooperation to the Bhutan government for further strengthening relationship with the neighbouring country. <br/> <br/>Mr Gogoi held a meeting with Bhutan’s Consul General in Kolkata, Mr Dasho Tsering Wangdo in Guwahati last night and urged him to send students from that country to Assam to avail of the excellent facilities at the educational institutions in Guwahati. <br/> <br/>The Chief Minister also pointed out the state's potential in sectors such as tourism and food processing, besides the medical facilities available in both government and private hospitals.<br/> <br/>Mr Wangdo said Bhutan would soon start flight operations with Assam on the Guwahati-Bhutan-Bangkok route which would be subsequently extended to Patna. <br/> <br/>There is a great degree of stability in Assam with insurgency on the wane. As a result, thousands of Bhutanese come everyday for doing business in Assam, particularly in Chirang district. We want our next-door neighbour to prosper as therein lies our strength, Wangdo added. <br/><br/>
