Assam CM asks security force to take stern action against miscreants

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked security forces to take stern action against miscreants and insurgent groups who resort to violence. Assam Police has so far arrested 274 miscreants for indulging in violence.

Meanwhile, indefinite curfew continues in Chirang district since last evening after unidentified miscreants killed five persons. Curfew was relaxed in Kokrajhar district for 17 hours during the day.

Senior Assam Ministers visited Choudhuri para in Chirang district this evening where the killing took place.

The group of ministers visited the Choudhuri para area and met local people .They urged all to maintain peace and harmony and assured to provide full securities as angry mob blocked National Highway number 31 to protest the killing of five persons.

Meanwhile, as a part of confidence building measures, an all party delegation will visit the violence hit areas from Monday to appeal all sections of people to maintain age-old unity and brotherhood of Assam.

The delegation consists of ten political parties will also meet people who are staying in relief camps.

Meanwhile, Local people recovered a body at Sukhanjora in Kokrajhar-Dhubri border Sunday. The person was missing since Saturday.
