Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked public functionaries including Zila Parishads and Panchayat members to persuade people to go back to their places of work. He also appealed to the people to return to their places of work in the states from where they have come back home after the recent rumours. The Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka governments have also assured that the people of north-east would be reinstated in their jobs once they return to the states.The Karnataka Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar said that all precautionary steps have been taken to avoid any untoward incident. He expressed satisfaction that those returning to Assam are willing to come back to their places of work. No untoward incident has been reported from anywhere in Assam in the last 24 hours. Special commandos’ teams with helicopters are being pressed into service and security has been beefed up. 15 additional companies have been deployed at sensitive and hyper sensitive areas. Special arrangements have also made to celebrate Eid -Ul-Fitr with traditional fervour at relief camps.
