Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal talked to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over phone and apprised him about the situation at the Assam-Mizoram border and steps taken by the state Government. He requested the Home Minister to take necessary steps by the Centre to maintain peace and harmony in the border areas. He assured that the Assam government would follow the directives of the Centre in managing the situation. Mr. Sonowal reviewed the current situation of Assam-Mizoram border at a meeting in Guwahati.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah apprised the Chief Minister about the present situation there and DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta informed about the steps taken for keeping law and order situation in control. The Chief Minister directed the top officials to maintain a peaceful environment and keep brotherhood and harmony intact at the Assam-Mizoram border areas.</span><br />
