Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has allocated the portfolios of the newly-inducted Ministers on Monday afternoon. According to official sources, the Chief minister Mr. Gogoi will look after Home, Political, Finance, Personnel, Guwahati Development, General Administration, Election, Passport, Information Technology, Science and Technology, and any other department which is not allotted to other Ministers. Prithibi Majhi has got the portfolios of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Tea Tribes Welfare and Labour and Employment. Tanka Bahadur Rai has been given the portfolios of Planning and Development, Judicial, Legislative, Pension and Public Grievance. The portfolios of other Ministers with Cabinet rank include-Gautam Roy-Public Health Engineering, Ajanta Neog- Public Works Department, Urban Development and Housing, Dr Ardhendu Dey-Irrigation and Soil Conservation, Akon Bora- Social Welfare and Jails, Chandan Brahma-Transport, Tourism, Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma- Health and Family Welfare, Education, Implementation of Assam Accord, Khor Sing Engti- Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Mines and Minerals and Hill Areas, Dr Nazrul Islam- Food and Civil Supplies, Welfare of Minorities and Haj, Nilomoni Sen Deka-Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Processing and Parliamentary Affairs, Pradyut Bordoloi- Industries and Commerce, Power and Public Enterprises, Pranati Phukan- Handloom and Textiles, Sericulture and Cultural Affairs and Rockybul Hussain- Panchayat, Rural Development, Environment and Forest. The portfolios allocated to the Ministers of State with independent charge include- Ajit Singh- Excise, Sports and Youth Welfare, Basanta Das- Fisheries, Information, Public Relations, Printing and Stationery, Rajib Lochan Pegu- Water Resources and Siddique Ahmed-Cooperation and Border Areas Development. AIR Correspondent reports most of the Ministers of the previous Gogoi-led Ministry including Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ajanta Neog, Akon Bora, Chandan Brahma, Khorsingh Ingti, Dr. Nazrul Islam, Pradyut Bordoloi and Rockybul Hussain have retained their earlier portfolios.
