Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the functioning of Labour Welfare department in Guwahati and took stock of various schemes implemented for the labour welfare in the state. He directed the department to release medical assistance of 5 thousand rupees &nbsp;each to 3 lakh 22 thousand registered construction workers in the state. <br />''<br />''Saying that the Assam government has taken various steps for upliftment of downtrodden and underprivileged, the Chief Minister highlighted schemes like Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni which provides &nbsp;25 thousand rupees to unemployed youths in tea garden areas for self-employment ventures. Mr. Sonowal directed the department to take steps to cover the registered small shop owners and keepers under pension scheme for the unorganized sector.<br />'' &nbsp;
