Assam celebrating Durga Puja with religious fervour

Assam is celebrating the biggest festival, Durga Puja along with the rest of the country amid festivity and religious fervour.<br />''<br />''Durga Puja stands as one of the most celebrated festivals of Assam. The capital city Guwahati alone has 542 makeshift Durga puja pandals. Almost all the puja committees across the State designed the makeshift Durga puja pandals with various motifs and themes which are trending across the globe to attract more people into their pandals apart from disseminating constructive messages for the people. Devotees are offering prayers to goddesses Durga in these pandals with devotion and religious fervour. <br />''<br />''In Guwahati, the Satribari Sarbajanin puja committee designed their mandaps like Radio, television and gramophone. The Pandu rest camp was designed like the Kailash parvat and another one designed a 160-foot statue of Bhagawan Sri  Ram, Geetanagar puja mandap was designed like Thiland's Budda Vihara. Shani Mandir Durga Puja Sangha in Assam's Nagaon town has used coins worth Rupees 11 lakh to decorate their Durga Puja pandal. In Goalpara district, pandals are designed like Chandrayan 3, Lotus Temple and Japi.<br />
