Bhogali Bihu is being celebrated in Assam today. Celebrations for Assam's harvest festival began on 'Uruka' today with community feasts and prayers to the fire god. People from all communities in a spirit of brotherhood gathered to participate in the celebrations. Though this festival is primarily observed in the rural areas, it is also celebrated in the urbanareas with community feasts at different localities.
