In Assam, a special program was held on the occasion of the 68th Azad Hind Haqoomat Day in Guwahati. Assam Governor J B Patnaik, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Union minister Pawan Singh Ghatowar, Agatha Sangma along with other dignitaries attended the programme. Addressing the gathering Governor Mr. Patnaik recalled the role played by Netaji and his men in the independence of India. He said that on this day in 1943, Netaji unanimously was elected as the head of the state and the supreme commander of INA at a rally in Singapore. Chief Minister Mr.Gogoi said urged the present generations to follow the patriotism of Netaji for the upliftment of the society. Commemorating the day, Regional and state chapters of Netaji Subhash Sangathan is also inaugurated.
