On the other hand, UPPL's Jiron Basumatary won from Gossaigaon while Jolen Daimary was elected from Tamulpur assembly constituency. Our Correspondent reports that all the 3 winning candidates from Thowra, Mariani and Bhawanipur had resigned from their parties and recently joined the BJP. In the recent assembly polls, Congress won the Thowra and Mariani seats while AIUDF bagged Bhabanipur assembly seat. Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed happiness on the result and said that it was the result of the good works of the BJP governments.</span><br />
