Assam boat tragedy: Rescue ops resume, Rahul Gandhi to arrive to supervise operation

In Assam, the operation to recover more bodies from the Brahmaputra River has resumed this morning. The tragedy occured when a ferryboat capsized due to cyclonic storm at Bura Buri Char in Dhubri district on Monday.

AIR Correspondent reports that the rescue operation was hampered yesterday due to heavy rain accompanied by storm and the high speed water current of the river.

Meanwhile, the AICC general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi and the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi are arriving in the incident spot in Dhubri district this afternoon to supervise the operation and take stock of the situation after the tragedy.
