In Assam, the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party is underway in Guwahati to formally elect party's Chief Ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal as its leader. <br/><br/>Later, party leaderships will meet the Governor at Raj Bhawan to formally claim government formation demand. Mr. Sonowal will take oath on Tuesday evening in Guwahati as the new Chief Minister of Assam. <br/><br/>Our correspondent reports the new government will be sworn in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Chief Ministers of NDA ruled states and several Union Ministers. <br/><br/>The BJP and its allies Asom Gana Parishad and Bodoland People's Front scored a massive victory in the assembly elections, bagging 86 seats in the 126 member assembly.
