Assam Assembly Speaker Ranjit Das met President Pranab Mukherjee today at Rashtrapati Bhawan and appealed him to take step to declare flood as a national problem. <br/><br/>Mr. Das told AIR Correspondent that several states including Assam are reeling under flood, and several persons have lost their lives. <br/><br/>The Speaker said that the President assured him of finding out option to declare flood as a special problem, if it would not be possible to declare it as a national problem due to technical reasons. <br/><br/>Mr. Das also met DoNER minister Jitendra Singh, and also raised the flood issue among others. <br/><br/>
