Assam and Arunchal Pradesh have decided to take immediate steps to resolve tension prevailing along the border of the two states following firing by suspected NSCN(IM) cadre. Assam Law Minister Pranab Gogoi and Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Tako Dabi met at Bimalapur along the border in Assam's Sibsagar district today to resolve the issue.Tension prevailed there after NSCN(IM) militants set ablaze several houses and attacked police pickets in Charaipung and Bimalapur area since Saturday night.It was decided that security forces of both the states would jointly patrol the border and the roads would be kept open for the public. The sources said that Peace Committees will also be set up by both states to meet every month.
