In Assam, a joint force of Army and state Police on Tuesday recovered a powerful improvised explosive device, IED, on a railway track at Moterjhar in Dhubri district. The IED, weighing 10 kilograms is suspected to have been planted by outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland ultras to create panic among the people during the ongoing Durga Puja festivities in the state. Two other IEDs were also seized from a ferry boat. The two explosives, weighing 1.5 kilograms each were planted in an engine fitted boat traveling from Majerchar to Dhubri town. One suspected person has been picked up for interrogation in this connection.
