Assam government has announced a judicial enquiry into the Bodoland Territorial Area District violence. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the judicial enquiry will look into various aspects of the violence. Assam government has registered 309 cases. Of these, seven cases are being investigated by the CBI.Gogoi asked CBI to inquire more cases. He also said that, at present the top priority of the government is to rehabilate the displaced people. He also said that government will publish a White Paper on the measures being taken to prevent infiltration. Gogoi said that he would ask the Chief Ministers of different states to ensure the safety of the people of Assam who are residing there. Meanwhile, the Co-Ordination committee for Communal harmony, consisting of 24 organizations belonging to various communities, organised a meeting today in Kokrajhar. The committee visited relief camps and urged all to maintain peace and harmony.
