Assam: 21 killed in 3 separate militant attacks; Curfew imposed in entire Baksa district

In Assam, miscreants have gunned down 10 persons in Baksa district this evening. Additional DGP, R M Singh said that the incident occurred at Narayanguri village. Around 35 houses have also been torched down. Security forces have reached the spot.

Indefinite curfew has been imposed in entire district after the incident. Banned outfit National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit group) killed 11 innocent persons in Kokrajhar and Baska district last night.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has instructed the police to deal firmly with the current situation in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts, BTAD. Union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde called up the chief minister today and assured him all possible helps to contain the situation.

Meanwhile, the army has staged flag march to instill confidence among people in the violence affected areas. Six companies of Quick Response Teams have been deployed in Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Baksa. The Assam government has also asked the Centre to depute additional 10 companies of para-military force.
