Official sources said that 1.2 lakh people are affected due to floods in 20 districts. Surging water disrupted road communications and also submerged crops. Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, and Baksa are among the worst affected districts. A total of 780 villages were submerged in surging waters. NDRF and SDRF teams have been pressed into rescue work.
