Asian Youth Games, China: India bag Silver and Bronze on Day 5

India bagged a Silver and a Bronze on the fifth day of the Asian Youth Games at Nanjing, China yesterday, to take their medal tally to six. Manu Gandas bagged the Silver in the Men's individual stroke play in golf, while Saroj Ajay Kumar claimed a bronze in the 1500 metres race. Indians are participating as Independent Olympic Athletes as the IOA is serving a ban imposed by the IOC.Earlier in the event, India had won a Gold in Squash and a Bronze each in Table Tennis, Weightlifting and Judo.Meanwhile, in other news from the Games venue, three Indian weightlifters were disqualified by the local organising committee, citing overage as the reason. The news came barely a couple of days after 18 track and field athletes were disqualified from the Games due to overage, prompting the Sports Ministry to launch an inquiry into the incident.
