Asian stocks ended mixed on Thursday. Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 2.3 percent, China's Shanghai Composite gained 0.6 percent and South Korea's Kospi appreciated 0.3 per cent. However, Japan's Nikkei-225 declined 0.2 percent and Singapore's Straits Times fell 0.1 per cent.
European shares were down in intra-day trade as investors weighed the latest interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve. London's FTSE-100 tumbled 1.1 percent while France's CAC-40 and Germany's DAX were both trading down by 0.7 percent each when reports last came in.
