In their opening match of the 17th Asian Senior Men's Vollyball championship at Shaikh Hamdum Sports Complex in Dubai, India have won first set by 25-13 against Quatar when the reports last came in. If India win this match it will enter into the quater final of the tournament. In a group match at Al Nasr Club on Saturday, Srilanka beat Oman in straight sets 25-19,25-18 and 25-21. In all 21 teams including India , hosts UAE, the reigning champion Iran and runner-ups China along with Thailand ,Korea and Australia are participating in the tournament. Defending champions Iran and the runners up China are hot favorites to win the tournament having already qualified for the World Cup in Poland this year.
