Asian markets suffered losses today except Japan's Nikkei-225 logging a marginal gain. Singapore's Straits Times declined 0.4 percent, China's Shanghai Composite 0.3 percent, South Korea's Kospi 0.2 percent, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.1 percent.

European Markets, however, registered small gains in intra-day trade. France's CAC-40 rose 0.6 percent and Germany's DAX 0.1 percent while London's FTSE-100 was trading flat when reports last came in.
