India have won a silver and bronze in the Asian Grand Prix Series athletics event, now under way in China. On the opening day at Jiaxiang on Sunday, middle distance runner Ghamanda Ram secured the silver in the 800 metres race. Clocking one minute fifty point two five seconds, Ram was just a fraction of a second slower than reigning Asian Games gold-medallist Sadjad Moradi of Iran, who won the gold.Discus thrower Seema Antil accounted for the bronze when she hurled the disc to 49.77 metres. China won both the Gold and Silver in the event.
