Asian Games: India climbs to 8th position

At Guangzhou today, Indian athletes provided a huge boost to the country's lacklustre campaign in the 16th Asian Games by fetching two gold medals, while Ronjan Sodhi brought an end to the gold drought in shooting. India, in all, bagged as many as nine medals today to climb to the 8th position on an eventful ninth day of competitions. India's medal tally has now climbed to five gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze. China have continued their dominance and remained atop the table with a stunning medal tally of 145 Gold, 71 Silver and 70 Bronze. South Korea are second with 55 Gold, 46 Silver and 61 Bronze. Japan follow next in the third place 30 Gold, 53 Silver and 62 Bronze.
