After a wait of 16 years, India has won the gold of Men's Hockey in the Asian Games. In the process India also qualified for 2016 Rio Olympics. In a nerve wrecking game India defeated Pakistan 4-2 on a penalty shootout. The match was evenly poised. Pakistan took an early lead in the first quarter on Rizwan Mohammad's goal. India eqaulised the game from Kothajit Singh's goal in the second quarter. The match was then logged at one goal each till the end. Hence, game went to penalty shoot for the Gold.Within minutes after winning the Hockey Gold India clinched the 4×400 metres Women's relay Gold, by creating a new Asian games record. The team of Priyanka Pawar, Tintu Lukka, Mandeep Kaur and Poovamma Raju with a time of 3 minute 28.68 seconds sprinted their way to win the Asian Games gold.Earlier in the day, India had settled for a bronze as pugilist Sathish Kumar lost his semi final bout in +91 kg weight class to Kazakhsthan's Ivan Dychko. Vikas Krishan will figure in semi finals of men's 75 kg weight class later in the day.Among today's results, the Indian Men's and Women's Kabaddi team stormed into the Finals. While the Indian eves defeated Thailand, the Men's team beat Korea in a thrilling encounter.With 9 Gold, 9 Silver and 35 Bronze, India is 9th.
