Asian Games: India bags silver in athletics<br/>

In the Incheon Asian Games, India bagged a Silver in Athletics, a short while ago. Khushbir Kaur finished second in the Women&apos;s 20km Race Walk to give India it&apos;s first medal of the day.However, in the Men&apos;s section, Kolothum Thodi Irfan finished fifth, while Ganapathi Krishnan was disqualified. Runners Poovamma Raju, Mandeep Kaur, Kunhu Mohammad and Rajiv Arokia, and Hammer Thrower Manju Bala will be seen in the Finals of their respective events, later in the day.Earlier today, Indian Archers missed out on Bronze in the Women&apos;s Recurve team event. The trio of Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi lost to Japan, 4-5.In other results, grappler Babita Kumari advanced to the quarterfinals beating Srey Mao Dorn of Cambodia in Women&apos;s Freestyle 55 kg category. Yogeshwar Dutt, Satywart Kadian and Jyoti are yet to play their matches.In Tennis, Yuki Bhambri is now playing Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan for a place in the Singles finals. Sania Mirza, with Prarthana Thombare in Women&apos;s Doubles and Saketh Myneni in the Mixed Doubles, will figure in the semi-finals later today. The pairs of Yuki Bhambri and Divij Sharan, and Sanam Singh and Saketh will be seen in action in the Men&apos;s Doubles last-4.In Table Tennis, both the Men&apos;s and Women&apos;s teams lost their preliminary round matches.In Kabaddi, the Women&apos;s team won it&apos;s preliminary group match against Bangladesh, 28-19. The Men&apos;s team will also take on Bangladesh, later in the day.In other events to follow, pugilists MC Mary Kom, Laishram Sarita Devi and Pooja Rani will play their quarterfinal bouts, while Devendro Laishram will begin his campaign with a Round-of-16 match.The Indian Women&apos;s Basketball team will take on Japan in the quarterfinals.China is currently at the top of the medals tally, with Korea second and Japan third. With 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 20 Bronze, India is 11th.
