Indian shooters bagged their first Silver of the Incheon Asian Games this morning. In the Men's 25-metre Centre Fire Pistol Team event, the trio of Pemba Tamang, Gurpreet Singh and Vijay Kumar finished second to take India's overall medals tally to 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 13 Bronze. In the Individual event, Pamba was 8th, Gurpreet 9th and Vijay 12th.In the Women's 50-metre Rifle-3 positions event, the team of Lajja Gawswami, Anjali Bhagwat and Tejaswini Muley finished sixth. In the individual section Finals, Lajja Gawswami failed to win a medal.In other results, the Indian Women's Archery team stormed into the Recurve semi-finals. In the last-8 stage, the team of Dipika Kumari, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi defeated Chinese Taipei, 5-4 to book a semi-final berth. The Men's team, however, lost to Hong Kong, 3-5 in the eliminations.In the individual Recurve event, Laxmirani and Atanu Das sailed into the quarterfinals, but Dipika Kumari and Jayanta Talukdar lost in the eliminations. Swimmer Sandeep Sejwal stormed into the finals of the 50-metre breaststroke this morning.In Tennis, Yuki Bhambri and Sanam Singh booked quarterfinal berths, while Ankita Raina lost her last-16 match. In Badminton, P. Kashyap is now playing world number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in the pre-quarterfinals. Saina Nehwal will play her quarterfinal match against world number three China's Yihan Wang later today, while Srikanth K. will be seen in action in the pre-quarterfinals.The Men's and Women's Squash teams will play their semi-final matches. While the Indian Men will clash with Kuwait, the Indian eves will meet Korea. In Hockey, the Women's team will take on Malaysia in a group match. Pugilists Shiva Thapa, Akhil Kumar, Kuldeep Singh and Amritpreet Singh will play their pre-quarterfinal bouts. China is currently at the top of the medals tally, with Japan second and Korea third. India is 16th.
