Asian Games, Day 6: India bags 3 Bronze, Hopes up for gold

In the Incheon Asian Games India is sitting at 15th position on the medals table. The overall medals tally for India is at 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 13 Bronze. Today, India bagged two bronze in rowing and one came from shooting. Rower Swaran Singh clinched Bronze in the Men's Singles Sculls, and 3rd finish in the Men's Eight Final. The other bronze came from shooting of Women's trap team. Overall we could summaries Day 6th merrier than the rest of days. Indian Archers Compound Men's Team has stormed into the finals illuminating golden sunshine but they have to fight the champions South Korea in their finals. Archers Trisha Deb and Abhishek Verma have also reached Semi Final of Compound Individual events. Squash has assured two more medals as Men's and Women's team enter Semi-final today. Badminton witnessed PV Sindhu crashing out where as Saina Nehwal, K Srikanth and P Kashyap advancing to the next round. Mixed Doubles pair and Men's doubles pair also moved ahead in ladder. Tennis also assured hopes as Yuki Bhambri, Sanam Singh and Ankita Raina entered per-quarterfinal, mixed doubles pair and men's doubles team also made it to the next stage. Pugilist Devendro Singh did not throw a punch and got walk-over in Men's Light Fly category. He surges in last 16. The biggest upset came from the Hockey field as Indian Men's hockey team lost to arch rivals Pakistan 1-2 in a group match. In the high voltage clash the score was tied at 1-1 till the last quarter but in the last minute Pakistan made a possible void that found the Indian net. With days to come in Asiad India contingent will try to revive their position.
