Asian Games 2014: India add two more Bronze to medal kitty

In the Incheon Asian Games, India added two Bronze medals to it's kitty this morning, taking the overall tally to 1 Gold and 5 Bronze. The first Bronze of the day came in Shooting in the Women's 25-metre Pistol Team event. The trio of Heena Sidhu, Rahi Sarnobat and Anisa Sayyed finished third in the event to claim India's third Bronze in Shooting. Korea bagged the Gold, with Thailand claiming the Silver.In the 10-metre Air Rifle team event, the team of Ayonika Paul, Apurvi Chandela and Raj Chaudhary finished fifth.Ayonika, Rahi and Heena could not make a mark in their respective Individual events.India Shooters have claimed 4 of the 6 medals so far, which includes a Gold by Jitu Rai.Today's second Bronze came in Squash. Dipika Pallikal lost to top seed David Nicol Ann of Malaysia, 3-0 in the semi-finals and settled for a Bronze medal. Top seed in Men's, Saurav Ghosal is yet to play his semi-final match today. He has also assured India of at least a Bronze.Among India's other results today, in Track Cycling, India's Amarjit Nagi finished 13th, while Amrit Singh ended 14th in Men's Sprint Qualifying.In Swimming, Pratapan Nair finished sixth in the heats of the 50-metre backstroke category.The Men's and Women's Tennis teams are currently playing Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals.Later today, the Women's Hockey team will take on Thailand in a group match.Judo will witness Rajwinder Kaur trying her luck in the quarterfinals of the +78kg category.Korea is currently at the top of the medals tally, with China second and Japan third. India is at the 12th position.
