India thrashed China 9-0 today in the fourth Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament being played in Kuantan, Malaysia. India were leading 8-0 at the end of the third quarter. India had earlier scored a morale boosting win over arch-rivals Pakistan. The runaway 10-2 victory against Japan and the 3-2 win against Pakistan has kept top-ranked India on course for the leading spot in the round-robin league. India will play their next match with hosts Malaysia tomorrow to top league stage. This could ensure them a favourable semi-final fixture. In another match, Defending champions Pakistan rode on two penalty corner goals from Muhammad Aleem Bilal to survive a scare and prevail 4-3 over Japan.In the round-robin league standings, Malaysia have 9 points followed by India on seven points from three matches. Pakistan and China are on three points from three outings.
