In Men's Hockey, defending champions India beat South Korea 4-1 in their fifth and final round-robin match of the Asian Champions Trophy at Muscat, Oman on 24 October.
India's Harmanpreet scores a hattrick and declared man of the match. Gurjant Singh scored a brilliant field goal for India, while Lee Seungil scored the only goal for Korea.
The victory consolidated India's top position in the standings with 13 points from five matches with four wins and a draw. India have already secured a berth in the semi-finals. But the defeat nocked the Koreans out of the contention.India will take the momentum into the semi-final, which is scheduled on Saturday.
Yesterday, Malaysia had held India to a goal-less draw.
India had earlier defeated hosts Oman 11-0, before outclassing arch-rivals Pakistan 3-1, and Asian Games gold medalist Japan 9-0.
Along with India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Japan have now secured their place in the knock-out stage but the final standings will be decided after tomorrow's last two league games.
