Asian athletic meet will be held at Chennai in July according to Tamil Nadu School education, youth and sports Minister N R Sivapathy. He was inaugurating the preliminary works for setting up international standard synthetic tennis court worth Rs one crore eleven lakhs at Anna Stadium Tiruchirapalli today. He said that more than 45 countries will be participating in this athletic meet. In a review meeting held under Chief Minister Selvi Jayalaitha recently, Rs 40 crore was allotted as initial expenses to conduct the athletic meet.
