A red-hot India team will clash with struggling defending champions Sri Lanka in the T-20 Asia Cup match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, in Mirpur, Dhaka this evening. Both have won the Asia Cup five times since its inception in 1984, and could be real contenders for the trophy. But while India is in terrific T-20 form having won the series in Australia and beating Sri-Lanka 2-1 last month, Sri Lanka's form has taken a nose-dive since 2015 winning only 3 and losing 8 matches. India inflicted a crushing 5 wicket defeat on Pakistan Sunday, and Bangladesh in the opening match. The defending champions & reigning World Cup T-20 Champions will have to work hard against India's fine batting order specially since their standout bowler and captain Lasith Malinga has been rested after injury. India's bowling attack, so far a weak link has matured into a reliable and versatile unit specially with the inclusions of Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah. On the other hand, Sri Lanka's batting has been weakened after the retirements of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.
