In Asia Cup T20 Cricket, Sri Lanka defeated India in a crucial Super Four clash by 6 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium last night. Bhanuka Rajapaksa unbeaten 25  and Dasun Shanaka unbeaten 33 attached a 64-run partnership for the fifth wicket to take on Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka made 174 for four wickets in the 19.5 overs.

Kusal Mendis was the top run-scorer for Sri Lanka with 57 runs. Pathum Nissanka also helped the team's cause with his 52-run knock. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 34. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, India had posted 173 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs, with Rohit Sharma's 72-run knock. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka claimed three wickets, while Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka claimed two wickets apiece. Skipper Dasun Shanaka was declared Player of the Match. Sri Lanka are now a step closer to reaching the finals. On the other hand, India can sneak into the final by a miracle and their chances are now dependent on permutation and combinations that emerge from the matches of other teams.

Today, Pakistan will take on Afghanistan in the 4th match of the Super Four clash at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah at 7:30 pm IST.
