In the Asia Cup 2022 T20 cricket, chasing the target of 174 runs set by India, Sri Lanka were 84 0 in 8.5 overs in the Super Four tie of the ongoing Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium when reports last came in. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, India posted 173 for 8 on the board in the stipulated 20 overs with Rohit Sharma's 72-run knock off 41 balls while Suryakumar Yadav also made valuable 34 runs. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka claimed three wickets, while Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka claimed two wickets.

India suffered a shock defeat against Pakistan in their first match of the Super Four stage on Sunday. Now it becomes a must for Men in Blue to win both their remaining fixtures and at the same time keep Net run rate  in check as well.
