Asia Cup: India take on Sri Lanka in their last league match

India will meet hosts Sri Lanka in the last league match of the on-going Asia Cup cricket tournament at Dumbulla on Tuesday. All India Radio will broadcast a running commentary on the match to be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International stadium. The commentary, alternately in Hindi and English, can be heard from 1400 hours onwards.India and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the final slated for Thursday. India will miss opener Virender Sehwag who has suffered a hamstring injury. Dinesh Karthik has already joined the squad as replacement.On Monday, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 139 runs in an inconsequential Asia Cup cricket match at Dambulla. Electing to bat, Pakistan made an intimidating 385 for seven, their highest score in ODIs. Captain Shahid Afridi smashed a blistering 60-ball 124, his second century in the tournament. It was also his sixth ODI hundred. During the course of his innings, Afridi also claimed the record for the most number of sixes hit by a batsman. His tally of 272 sixes eclipsed the earlier record of 270 held by Sanath Jayasuriya. Chasing the target of 386, Bangladesh settled for batting practice and made a listless 246 from their 50 overs. Both sides had already crashed out of the tournament.
