Asia, Africa dominate FIFA U-17; Russia succumbs to 2nd loss

In the ongoing FIFA-Under 17 Football World Cup, Russia slumped to its second defeat yesterday. Tunisia overcame the Russian challenge to romp home with 1-0 victory in a Group-D encounter at Sharjah. In another Group-C match, Croatia defeated Panama 1-0. In other matches Japan defeated Venezuela 3-1 in Sharjah while Morocco was held to a goalless draw against Uzbekistan in Fujairah. In the matches today, defending champions Mexico will take on Iraq while Sweden will play against Nigeria at Al Ain. In other matches, Canada will face Iran while Austria is pitted against Argentina in Dubai. The tournament has been full of surprises with Asian and African dominance so far.
