Ashwini Kumar says, his resignation does not imply any wrong doing

Mr. Ashwini Kumar today said, he had submitted his resignation as Law Minister to put an end to unnecessary controversy on a matter before the Supreme court in which no adverse comments had been made against him. Mr. Kumar said, certain political decisions were necessary and his resignation does not imply any wrong doing. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr. Kumar thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for having given him an opportunity to be part of the PM's team. He said, as a foot soldier of the Congress party, he was bound to obey the decisions of the High command and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Mr. Kumar said, his conscience remains clear and will certainly be vindicated and truth and justice will prevail. Mr. Kumar also said, the media has projected the whole issue in a manner that suited their interests.
