In Haryana, Union Minister of State for Planning, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Ashwani Kumar has said that the Centre plans to set up 14 Innovation Universities in the states and one of them is proposed to be set up at Kundli in Haryana. Addressing the media at chandigarh today, he said, there is a need to boost research and innovation activities in the field of dairy farming, Animal Husbandry and soil health in Haryana as the agricultural production level has reached saturation level there. The Minister said that his Ministry proposes to enhance the annual outlay of Haryana in health sector from 4.4 to 5.9 per cent percent.Speaking on inclusive growth, Mr Ashwani Kumar said that Haryana should concentrate on improving mortality rate, gender discrimination and male-female sex ratio with special focus on Mewat area. The Minister commended the work done by Haryana for development of new technologies, diversification of crops and development of vegetable centres etc. He also commended the state for better implementation of MGNREGA, NRHM and total sanitation programme.
