Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was today appointed as the head of the Congress screening committee for Punjab Assembly polls. <br/><br/>The six-member committee comprises party in charge of the state Asha Kumari, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh, party leader Charanjit Singh Channi and others. <br/><br/>The announcement was made by party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in New Delhi. The committee will scrutinise the party candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in the state.<br/><br/>The assembly elections in Punjab is slated for early next year.
