Ashes 2015, 4th Test: Root, Broad put England in driver's seat

In the Ashes, England finished the first day with a strong lead of 214 runs against Australia, after they bowled them out on paltry 60 runs in the first innings of the Nottingham Test.At stumps last night, England were 274 for 4 in the first innings with Joe Root and Mark Wood at crease. Joe Root the man in form essayed his 8th century, and is batting at 124.Earlier, in the day, Stuart Broad returned with his best Test figures, 8 for 15, as he wrecked down visitor's batting lineup. Broad also became the fifth English bowler to join the 300 wickets club, when he took the wicket of Chris Rogers on his third ball.Australia put to bat first, only survived 111 number of balls (or 18.3 overs) the shortest-ever first innings of a Test match. They made 60 with extras which amounted to 14 runs being the top score.
