A high level team of High Commissioners and Ambassadors of 7(seven) ASEAN countries has visited today important centres of border trade at the border towns of India and Myanmar to explore areas of promoting trade between the two countries.The team visited the International Trade Centre and the Integrated Check Post at border town Moreh in Manipur. They also paid a visit to the border towns of Tamu and Namphalong and the Border Trade Office at Tamu in Myanmar.The high level team is on a 5-day visit to Manipur, Mizoram and Indo-Myanmar border adjoining the two states from yesterday onwards in view of the Look-East Policy of the country. The team led by High Commissioner of Malaysia, Mr. Dato Tan Seng Sung includes top diplomats of Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and Brunei.The team will visit tomorrow places of unique historical importance in Manipur like British War Memorial, Bir Tikendrajit Park, Kangla Fort etc. They are leaving Imphal for Aizawl tomorrow.
