The 10-block ASEAN leaders said, India can play an important role in G-20 to raise the voice of developing countries in meeting the challenges of world economic crisis. In a statement issued at Hua Hin in Thailand, the leaders said, India can coordinate efforts between developed and emerging economies to mitigate the negative impact of the current global financial crisis. It said, India can also work with ASEAN to complement the global efforts in reform of the international financial architecture and accelerate the early recovery of the global economy. On its part, New Delhi welcomed ASEAN participation at the London and Pittsburg G20 Summits and expressed its support for the continued participation of ASEAN Chair and Secretary-General at G20 Summits. The ASEAN Leaders also reaffirmed their commitments to cooperate in addressing trans boundary issues and global challenges such as terrorism, transnational crimes, especially in the areas of drug trafficking, food and energy security, natural disasters, new emerging infectious diseases and climate change. They also encouraged ASEAN and India to undertake activities to implement the Joint Declaration on Cooperation to Combat Terrorism.<br/>
