Arvind Kejriwal to be sworn-in as Delhi CM on Saturday

In Delhi the Aam Aadmi Party government with outside support from the Congress will be sworn-in on Saturday. AAP Chief Minister candidate Arvind Kejriwal and his other Cabinet colleagues will be administered oath of office by the Lt Governor at Ramlila Maidan at 12 noon on that day. This was confirmed by party sources to AIR.

In his meeting with the Lt Governor on Monday, Kejriwal had staked claim to form the government. Following this, Jung had sent a proposal to President
Pranab Mukherjee detailing AAP's stake. A press release issued by Delhi Government said the President has directed that Kejriwal be asked to prove his majority on the floor of the House within seven days of his taking oath of office.

AAP has 28 seats in the state Assembly while Congress with 8 MLAs has offered outside support. BJP, the single largest party with 31 seats, had declined to form government citing lack of majority in the 70-member Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Congress today maintained that it would lend unconditional support to Aam Aadmi Party. Talking to media in New Delhi, Congress spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit said there is no rethink in the party on lending support to Aam Admi party.

AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said the party's priority is to implement 18 issues that it promised in its election manifesto. He said whichever party gives support on these issues, is welcome.

BJP has criticised Congress for lending support to Aam Aadmi Party. Former Delhi BJP President Vijender Gupta said the tie-up between Congress and AAP is an attempt to stop his party from getting power at the Centre.
