Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal was today sworn-in as seventh Chief Minister of Delhi. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung.
New Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejrival asked common people for outright support to eradicate the menace of corruption from Delhi and as well from the country. Addressing a huge gathering after swearing-in ceremony at Ramlila Maidan, Mr. Kejriwal said it would be a long drawn fight and his party is ready to clear dirt from the country. Kejriwal said that his guru Anna Hazare opposed him to entering into politics but he assured Anna he would enter politics to wipe out corruption.
Besides Kejriwal, six other Cabinet Ministers of new government were also sworn in at historic Ramlila Maidan. The Ministers are Manish Sisodia, Somnath Bharti, Rakhi Birla, Satyendra Jain, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Girish Soni.
AIR correspondent reports, after visiting Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi at Rajghat to pay homage, Kejriwal and his Cabinet team will hold their first Cabinet meeting this afternoon.
