Social activist Arvind Kejriwal today named his political outfit as Aam Admi Party. The name was finalized at a meeting of its founder members held in New Delhi. During the meeting, the party’s Constitution was also adopted.
Kejriwal had on 2nd October announced the formation of the party, saying its official launch would be on 26th November, the day Constitution of India was adopted in 1949.
AIR correspondent reports that Kejriwal went for re-branding after social activist Anna Hazare had asked them to disassociate his group ‘India Against Corruption’ from political activities.
