Arunachal student death: Delhi Police to submit deatiled report to Home Ministry today

The Delhi Police will today submit a detailed report today to the Home Ministry over the incident leading to the death of an Arunachal Pradesh student in Delhi. Nido Tania, a student, was allegedly beaten to death by some shopkeepers following an altercation at Lajpat Nagar on Thursday.

DCP- South East, P Karunakaran told AIR that the report is likely to be submitted by 3 PM. He said, police has registered murder case at Lajpat Nagar police station and three persons have been detained for interrogation so far. The Delhi Government had ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death yesterday.

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Resident Commissioner, K N Damo told AIR that body of Nido Tania is being flown to Arunachal Pradesh. He said the body has has reached Guwahati from where it will be taken to Nido's home by helicopter.

AIR correspondent reports that people from north eastern region residing in the city are agitated over the incident. Their representatives protested in South Delhi where the incident took place and demanded stern action against culprits.
