Arunachal Pradesh today celebrates it’s 25th Statehood Day with traditional pomp and gaiety. Speaking at the main celebration in Itanagar, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia stressed the need for developing the border areas of the state with all basic amenities. Stating that hydropower is the backbone of Arunachal’s development, Mr. Ahluwalia said Arunachal will have an annual income of 10,000 crore rupees from the power sector after the completion of the state’s hydropower projects .
