Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu announces that all government schools of State established before Independence to be declared as 'Heritage Schools'

<span style="color: #222222;">Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today announced that all government schools of the State established before Independence will be declared as 'Heritage Schools' and given special attention for infrastructure development along with a museum within the premises. He said this while attending the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Government Secondary School, Balek in East Siang District today.<br />''<br />''The Chief Minister said that from 3-4 schools established before Independence, Arunachal Pradesh today has more than 3000 government schools across the State. Mr. Khandu said that the State government has shut down about 400 government schools having zero attendance and the process is still on. The Chief Minister said, the State does not need more schools but needs quality education from the existing schools for which the government is extending all support. He informed that he has already given direction to the Education Department for mapping all government-run schools in the State so that the government can keep a tab on each school.</span><br />
